Finals Ahead

With final exams around the corner I have completed quite an assortment of exciting adventures, all in preparation for studying I promise. From body surfing in the mighty waves of the Indian ocean, to zip lining above the beautiful canopies of South Africa, to sliding down the tarp on AE's grassy hill I feel so blessed to be able to experience wild and carefree fun. I went to Durban on Saturday and the weather was perfect for a swim. The waves were absolutely gigantic and completely powerful! There were several times that my heart would quicken because I got knocked around a little out of my comfort zone. Sunday, we went on a zip lining tour, which was very nice. Having zip lined before I was not nervous and so went first within our group. On a few of the lines, the guides would goof around and flail their arms or reach for trees and bounce off of the branches. However, when I expressed a desire to try to mirror them one of the men said, "Monkey see, monkey do. Monkey try, monkey die!" Needless to say I was not in the mood to be a monkey that day. Finally, today, as soon as our Biology lecture was finished, we raced to our chalets, put on our costumes, and soaped up a massive tarp to create a giant slip 'n' slide, which was incredible. The tarp laid on a hill which was perfect for sliding because you picked up massive amounts of speed. So much speed, in fact, that your body kept sliding/rolling long after the tarp ended. I was tumbling with such force that I suffered some pretty severe grass burns/ bruises. We ended the day with a nice rinse off in the natural waterfall slides, which helped to rinse off all of the grass/mud we had accumulated with our exits off of the tarp. I am a person who bruises like a peach and so today produced some impressive and colorful battle wounds. I am so blessed to be living in an environment that encourages soaking up the beauty of God's nature.

Today, I toured Hampton Court Palace, an official historic, royal palace. Following are some of the sights I saw, history I learned, and favorites I enjoyed. The guard chamber of King William III. The magnificent display of 2,871 items of armor and weapons displayed a message that William was a great soldier and peacemaker. William's Presence chamber. God's Love

As I explore the attributes of God, I picked up a work by A. W. Tozer titled, Knowledge of the Holy. In it, Tozer writes on God's many attributes saying, "He never suspends one attribute to exercise another" (p. 68). He explains, "From God's other known attributes we may learn much about His love. We can know, for instance, that because God is self-existent, His love had no beginning; because He is eternal, His love can have no end; because He is infinite, it has no limit; because He is holy, it is the quintessence of all spotless purity; because He is immense, His love is an incomprehensibly vast, bottomless, shoreless sea before which we kneel in joyful silence and from which the loftiest eloquence retreats confused and abashed" (p. 69) This description inspires a sense of awe in the power of my God and reminds me of the gift of being His child. Let Us Love

Idelette McVicker, founder and editor of She Loves magazine wrote a poem titled, "Let Us Be Women Who Love." Below, please find the poem. I bolded my favorite stanzas.
