One year ago I boarded a plane from Sacramento, CA to East Texas, and I began one of the greatest adventures of my life. I laughed a ton, I sweat much more than I thought I ever could, I was challenged by others who sought the best for me, I fell in love with a baby colt, I managed to get five vehicles stuck in the mud, I dove into the scriptures, I met families who displayed sacrificial love, and I was supported by a community which brings me closer to Christ. Now, I am sitting in a room with the best roommate I could ask for, and I have the feeling one gets on Christmas Eve. The feeling of eager anticipation of the good to come coupled with the bittersweet reality of the fading moment. I am thrilled for this year to begin and the promise of the good to come, and I hope to savor each moment, knowing this season is a rare gift. I know I am serving here by God's grace and for His glory.
